On Thursday, March 14, the School of Health Sciences and the Athletics Department teamed up with Be the Match Donor Registry representatives, Michael Garbin, and Betty House, to host a marrow donor registry drive here at HVCC. Through the fantastic support of our community, many discovered their potential to save a life.
A BIG shout of “THANKS” goes out to the following students who volunteered during the event, actively and tirelessly working to inform and recruit possible donors:
Dental Hygiene: Brooke Cooper, Amber Lewis, Erica Nash, Skyler Pulver, Lauren Tyler and Molly Wheeler
Polysomnography: Michelle Maxwell and Megan Rzeszuto
Respiratory Care: Gabriella Collins, Steven Joseph and Stephanie Snyder
Through the efforts of all who assisted at and supported Thursday’s event, 29 people joined the Be the Match Marrow Donor Registry! We hope to host future registry drives, perhaps even annually. Meanwhile, we cheer on our fellow Vikings who boldly realize they may have what it takes to be true heroes!
