Biotechnology program faculty, Dr. Julie Friot, Dr. Jaya Dasgupta, Dr. Sujatha Kadaba, Dr. Van Fronhofer, Dr. Peter Schaefer, and Dr. Donna Barron, along with Giovanna Manoli, Assistant Coordinator of Technical Support Services, received training on the set up and use of bioreactors on Thursday January 16th. Staff scientists, Dr. Josh Pyser and Zea Harrison Bachman, from the lab of Dr. Michelle Lewis, at the Center for Biopharmaceutical Education and Training (CBET) at the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences provided the training. Bioreactors are used in second-year biotechnology courses to provide students with valuable hands-on skills. This training is supported by the American Association of Community Colleges MentorLinks grant funded by the National Science Foundation.
