Black History Month movie series continues Feb. 10

 

Please join the Student Activities Office for a Black History Month movie series.

The films will be shown every Thursday during the month of February in the Siek Campus Center, room 202, beginning at 2 p.m. (The running time for each film is noted below.)

Remaining films in the series are:

Feb. 10 — The Color Purple
A black Southern woman struggles to find her identity after suffering abuse from her father and others over four decades. (1985, 2 hrs. 34 mins.)

Feb. 17 — The Help
An aspiring author during the civil rights movement of the 1960s decides to write a book detailing the African American maids’ point of view on the white families for which they work, and the hardships they go through on a daily basis. (2011, 2 hrs. 26 mins.)

Feb. 24 — Fences
A working-class African-American father tries to raise his family in the 1950s, while coming to terms with the events of his life. (2016, 2 hrs. 19 mins.)
