Hudson Valley Community College’s contract for the integrated presentation tool, Blackboard Collaborate Ultra, in the Blackboard LMS, will end on June 30, 2022.
Due to budget concerns, the very low usage rates (fewer than five users), as well as the many redundant products currently available to the campus community, the Center for Distance and Online Learning conferred with the Senate IRC and suggested HVCC not renew the contract. Additionally, this product will not be available in D2L Brightspace, which has its own Virtual Classroom tool, and which will be the new LMS in the SUNY DLE by the Summer 2023 semester.
Currently, the college is supporting Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Blackboard Collaborate. With the adoption of YuJa as a video replacement solution, we have added YuJa live streaming capabilities through this new platform.
Blackboard Collaborate Ultra will not be available after June 30, 2022. If you have recordings saved from your Collaborate Ultra sesssions, you may download them to MP4s and upload them to YuJa for safe keeping and for streaming through that platform.
