Blackboard Tip of the Week

Did you know that you can make some videos appear as if they are in your course even if they are not? You Tube provides a way to do this by giving you the code to place in your course.

However, we do not need to use that since Blackboard now has a You Tube mash up tool.  (See the Blackboard Tip of the Week from June 23.)  Plus,  there are other sources of videos valuable to our instruction.  Some of them provide us with the HTML for placing them on a Web page in Blackboard, or any web page, without saving them and uploading them to our own Web space.

For example, Ted.com has wonderful videos and they provide you with the code for embedding one of their videos in a Web page.  Ted.com is an excellent web site that I learned about through Linda Ryder. Thank you for sharing your many ideas and resources Linda!

Here is one of their videos: Jonathan Drori on what we think we know. http://www.ted.com/talks/jonathan_drori_on_what_we_think_we_know.html and you can search for lots of others on the site.

This takes 30 seconds to do.
