Blackboard Tip of the Week

Bb Learn 3000.2

Here is a short, but important, Blackboard tip for the end of the semester. Simply put, many students will be taking end-of-semester tests in Bb, and the odds are that some of them will encounter issues while taking their exams. However, there are a number of steps that your students can take to reduce — if not eliminate — their chances of having an issue.

Students who follow this top-10 list of Bb test-taking tips, will go a long way toward avoiding problems:

  1. Use a wired internet connection, rather than a wireless connection.
  2. Use a computer, rather than a mobile device, when taking a test in Bb (unless the instructor confirms that the test is mobile-compatible).
  3. Use FireFox when taking a test in Bb.
  4. Clear the browser history and cache before taking a test.
  5. Make sure the browser window is maximized.
  6. Don’t have multiple tabs open in the browser.
  7. Have pop-up blocking enabled on the browser.
  8. Try not to have other applications open when they take the test.
  9. Don’t have multiple Bb sessions open at the same time.
  10. Log out of Bb and log back in before taking the test, so that the test starts with a fresh Bb session.

If you wish to, you can easily copy/paste the above list of tips into a Bb announcement to your students.
