When you submit an import job in Bb, an orange banner appears at the top of your window. Its purpose is to show you the status of your import job (i.e., queued, running, or complete), and—once the import is completed—to provide you with a click here link that you can use to view your detailed import log. This is an important function, as it affords instructors control over a critical process. And, in this respect, the orange banner functions much like the green banners that confirm your success in creating, editing or deleting course content, and the red banners that alert you to errors. However, whereas the green and red banners disappear once you navigate to another area of your course or refresh your display, the orange banner displays persistently, and becomes a visual distraction for you and your students.
The fix is deceptively simple. After all, the orange banner is essentially just a banner-shaped pop-up window. As such, you can easily x-out of it, just as you would do with any pop-up window, as the following graphic illustrates:
