Each month Brightspace releases updates to the system. This past month some of these updates effect the faculty experience. Here is what was updated in Brightspace in November.
New: Copy Announcements to Other Courses
What this does: When you need to send out an announcement to multiple courses for an update to office hours or a change that impacts multiple sections you can now copy an announcement from one course to another course.
To use this new function create an announcement in one of your courses and then post it to that course. Then use the action menu (chevron) to select the option to “Copy to Other Courses.” The next screen will allow you to select the course(s) that you are enrolled in as an instructor and copy the announcement to those courses. The headline, display information, content, start/end dates, attachments and pin status all will copy with the announcement.
Please note:
(1) Any release conditions added to the announcement will not copy.
(2) Announcements will be copied as a draft and still need to be published in the destination course. (The ability to auto publish copied announcements will be available in mid-December 2023.)
Updated: Review key assessment information when publishing evaluations
What changed: When choosing Publish All for Assignments and Discussions, key information will now display in the confirmation dialog. You will now know how many students/learners are assigned to an activity, how many are receiving feedback and if any are not published.
