Call for Nominations for President’s Award for Excellence; Due April 17

To recognize the excellence of faculty and staff, Officer in Charge Louis Coplin is pleased to announce the opening of nominations for President’s Awards for Excellence in Teaching and College Service. The awards were established in 1985 by President Joseph Bulmer as a way to recognize exceptional service and dedication to the college.

The deadline for nominations is 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 17.

Nominees may be full- or part-time employees of the college, the Capital District Educational Opportunity Center, the Foundation or the Faculty Student Association with at least five years of continuous service. Nomination packets must include:

TEACHING AWARD (limited to one per school)

  1.  A nomination letter from an academic dean
  2. A summary (no more than two pages) from the nominator including examples of exceptional performance and service
  3. Three confidential letters of support from students

COLLEGE SERVICE AWARD (limited to three)

  1. A nomination letter from a division/department/office director
  2. A summary (no more than two pages) from the nominator including examples of exceptional performance and service
  3. Three confidential letters of support from employees

Completed nomination packets should be sent to Lauren Robichaud in the Office of the President via email to l.robichaud@hvcc.edu. Nominations will be reviewed by a subcommittee of faculty and staff who will make recommendations to the Officer in Charge by Thursday, May 1.

Awards will be presented at the Faculty/Staff Honors Convocation on Thursday, May 8 at 4:30 p.m. in the Maureen Stapleton Theatre.
