Capital Region New York Business Plan Competition: Open to All Students!

The New York Business Plan Competition is the premier innovation competition for college students in New York and offers $100,000 in prizes at the state level.

HVCC will host the regional competition that is open to all college students in the Capital District area on Friday, April 5, but the Team Application is due March 1. (See more details below.)

This is an opportunity for everyone in all degree programs with an innovative idea!

Tracks include:
Food & Agtech: Agricultural Technology, Food Product, Food Service
Health & Wellbeing: Health IT, Life Science, Medtech, Wellbeing
Learn, Work & Live: Education, Community Building, Productivity, Fintech
Safety, Power & Mobility: Defense, Energy, Climate Tech, First Responder, Infrastructure, Mobility, Transportation
Products & Hardware: Business plans don’t fall into other tracks
Software & Services: Business plans don’t fall into other tracks

Important Dates

March 1 – Team Application Due Date
Submit team information indicating interest in participating in the event on the NYBPC website. Includes contact information and a few sentences about your idea.

March 31 Final Submission Due Date
Final submissions must include a brief company description, video pitch (8 minutes) and slide deck.  Instructions for final submissions will be sent to applicants by March 8, 2024.

April 5 Capital Region Competition
