Many campus programs and initiatives exist to support the work of our personnel, and all employees of the college are encouraged to take advantage of the expertise coordinated by the Center for Effective Teaching.
Regularly scheduled workshops are designed to enhance staff use of software and other productivity tools or our understanding of college policies and practices.
Several experienced faculty members serve as “mentors” to other instructors and staff members, and are scheduled to be available a few hours each week for one-on-one assistance on specific issues with which employees may want some help. From pedagogical/teaching and learning topics to working with specific networks or software, the collective skills of the faculty mentors are at your disposal on an as-needed basis.
The availability for the Fall 2013 semester is as follows:
- Milt Connors — Monday from 1 to 2 p.m.; Wednesday noon to 1 p.m.
- Michael Such — Tuesday from noon to 1 p.m.
- Tony Podlaski — Thursday from noon to 1 p.m.
- Flex-mentors are also available for specific assistance on request
Scheduled mentors can be found in the Faculty Resource Room and interested colleagues are encouraged to take advantage of this helpful college initiative. The schedule of available faculty and staff workshops including mentor availability can be found on the CET Calendar. If you or your office have specific training needs, this brief request form will put the process in motion.
Let us know how we can be of assistance and feel free to benefit from our expertise. We are here to help!
