College boosts Troy as region’s “college town”

Students enrolled at Troy’s three colleges — Hudson Valley Community College, RPI and Russell Sage College — make up 43.7 percent of the city’s population, making it the region’s “college town,” according to an article in the Albany Business Review.

Hudson Valley’s current enrollment tops 12,000, followed by RPI at 7,000, with Russell Sage College and its graduate school making up the remainder of Troy’s college student population of nearly 22,000.
