College recognized by International Center of the Capital Region

Hudson Valley Community College was chosen to receive the 2016 Academic Enlightenment Award from the International Center of the Capital Region (ICCR). The award recognizes academic institutions that promote diversity, inclusiveness and global understanding.

The award was presented at the ICCR’s U.S regional diplomacy summit held June 1 in Albany. President Andrew Matonak and Dr. Jay Deitchman, coordinator for International Student Services, received the award on behalf of the college.

Over the past several years, Hudson Valley has welcomed delegations from around the world through the International Visitor Leadership Program. These efforts have been coordinated though the ICCR.

On June 14, delegations from Romania and Kazakhstan visited campus to learn about STEM and workforce development opportunities and partnerships.
