Now that mid-term grades are in, it may be the right time to make referrals for students to the many support services available at the College through the College Success Referral System (CSRS). The process in WIReD to identify students to receive College Success Referrals, also known as the Faculty Feedback Form, is open for use for the Fall semester now through Thursday, Dec. 15.
Instructions for using the College Success Referral System are available here: www.hvcc.edu/issr/csrs.html.
Hudson Valley Community College continues to utilize an enhanced College Success Referral System based on the institution’s commitment to developing a systematic and integrated approach to student retention. The college recognizes that early detection of academic difficulties will increase the college’s ability to offer the student access to the appropriate support systems. To this end, the CSRS recognizes the importance of:
— easing the new student’s transition into the college environment
— early systematic identification of those students who may be academically at risk
— early identification of students who may be having difficulties in the classroom or online participation
— establishing a common communication link between students and their instructors, advisors, instructional support faculty, and department chairperson
