All faculty and staff who operate college vehicles are remined to be aware of new and reduced speed zones and use caution when driving for college business. Employees are responsible for any fines for violations received.
Please be aware that New York State legislation passed in September 2023 permits the City of Albany to implement a school zone speed enforcement program with automated speed cameras through 2028.
That speed enforcement program began on Sept. 6 within several school zones, and additional systems will be operational in the next two months. In addition, the City of Albany is reducing the citywide speed limit to 25 MPH as part of ongoing efforts to create a safer, more pedestrian-friendly environment.
