As the spring semester progresses, commencement planning for May 2021 is underway. Our plans include a virtual commencement celebration and an in-person ceremony, if New York State health and safety guidelines allow.
Regalia Orders
At this time, we encourage all students who graduated last year and those who are planning to graduate this spring or summer to order their commencement regalia. Orders can be placed online through the college’s Regalia Registration page. All orders must be placed before Monday, March 15, 2021, and there is no cost for students eligible for graduation in 2020 or 2021.
While our hope is that students will be able to wear their regalia to an in-person event, we will also request images of students in regalia for our virtual celebration. In the weeks ahead, we will provide additional information on how to submit images and update you on the college’s commencement plans.
Degree/Certificate Applications
In addition to ordering regalia, you must complete a degree/certification application in order to be eligible to graduate. If you are completing program requirements in spring or summer and haven’t already applied, be sure to complete the application as soon as possible!
Degree applications must be completed by April 7 to be listed in the Commencement program, but will be accepted through May 3 for spring graduates and August 2 for summer graduates. Applications are available at https://www.hvcc.edu/registrar/index.html and must be signed by your academic advisor.
