Colleagues,
I’m pleased to share that we have announced our plans for 2021 Commencement activities. This year’s celebration will be unique in that it will include a special virtual “event” as well as four short, in-person ceremonies at the Joseph L. Bruno Stadium on Saturday, May 15. Students will be provided with two guest tickets, and all attendees must follow important health and safety guidelines to attend.
I ask that you encourage participation in this year’s Commencement activities. Complete information is available on the college’s Commencement webpage, and an email titled “Commencement Updates: Graduates must register in order to attend an in-person ceremony” was sent to all students on April 19.
Note: Graduates must pre-register by Monday, May 3 in order to participate.
Faculty and administrative staff also have the option to attend in-person commencement ceremonies to celebrate our graduates or work during the events. You will be able to share your intent to participate by completing an online registration form later this week. All must comply with testing, vaccination and health screening requirements in order to participate.
Faculty attending ceremonies on campus will wear their academic regalia and be seated on the ball field behind graduates, according to social distancing guidelines. Any employee interested in working will be contacted by Student Activities with an assignment and compensation information.
Finally, all employees are also invited to submit congratulatory messages to be featured in our virtual ceremony. Please see the Campus Chronicle later this week for details on how to upload your message!
Thank you.
