Hudson Valley Community College will hold its 69th annual Commencement exercises during three in-person ceremonies, organized by school, at the McDonough Sports Complex on Saturday, May 13. Below is information for faculty participants.
Schedule of Events
9 a.m. — School of STEM (all degree and certificate programs)
11:30 a.m. — School of Health Sciences (all degree and certificate programs)
2 p.m. — School of Business and Liberal Arts (all degree and certificate programs)
Faculty planning to attend Commencement should arrive approximately 45 minutes prior to the start of their ceremony to allow time for potential traffic, parking, robing and line up. All parking lots and the parking garage are open.
Faculty are asked to report to the Multi-Purpose Room, located in the McDonough Sports Complex between the McDonough lobby and Hudson Hall, for robing and procession line up ahead of the ceremony. (Light refreshments such as beverages, muffins, pastries, fruit, cookies, etc. will be provided there and also at the Student Pavilion throughout the day.)
Faculty will process into the McDonough Field House, following the Class of 2023 and led by marshals, to designated faculty seating areas. It is anticipated that each ceremony will be approximately one hour and fifteen minutes in length. At the conclusion of the conferral of degrees, the college will celebrate graduates with a standing ovation and the deployment of cold sparkler machines stationed near the platform. Following the ceremony and during the recessional, faculty will follow the Platform Party out of the Field House.
