I am pleased to share an important update on commencement events taking place on Saturday, May 15.
Registration Required — Deadline Extended to Monday, May 10
Graduates planning to attend an in-person ceremony must register at www.hvcc.edu/commencement/on-campus.html by May 10, our extended deadline.
Health Screening and Testing/Vaccination Requirements
Regardless of age, all graduates, guests and employees will be required to submit proof of full COVID-19 vaccination or a recent negative PCR test result, and pass a health screening process, before being admitted to the ceremony, per New York State Department of Health guidelines.
- Current Student Pooled Surveillance Testing
Current students attending an on-campus ceremony, who are not fully vaccinated or planning to test elsewhere, are asked to participate in pooled surveillance testing in the Campus Center from Monday, May 10 to Wednesday, May 12 until noon. - On-site Rapid Testing Option
The college has contracted with The IMA Group to offer on-site COVID-19 antigen rapid testing on Commencement day.- There is no cost to participate, but online pre-registration is requested: https://www.hvcc.edu/commencement/rapid-testing.html
- Nasal swab samples will be collected.
- Results may take 15-30 minutes to process and will be sent to your mobile device.
- Individuals should arrive two hours ahead of the ceremony for rapid testing.
- NOTE: If a positive COVID-19 case is detected, all passengers in that vehicle will not be permitted on campus or allowed to attend the ceremony in person.
