Community College Completion Day on Oct. 8

The Center for Careers and Employment is sponsoring Community College Completion Day for students on Wednesday, Oct. 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the second floor of the Campus Center.

Presentations on coping with stress and managing time wisely will take place at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. in CTR204. Students can get assistance preparing resumes or selecting a major and will receive information about the academic and personal help services the college offers students.

Modeled on the New York State College Completion Day, the aim of the event is to encourage students to stay in school and complete degree or certificate programs.

“Our purpose is to help our students understand the importance and benefits of completing a community college credential, including the opportunity to earn more money in their lifetime, having an edge in the job hunt market and a decreased chance of becoming unemployed once they have established a career,” said Gayle Healy, director of the Center for Careers and Employment.
