Jonathan “Juanito” Pascual, an internationally-recognized guitarist who performs traditional and contemporary flamenco with influences ranging from Jimi Hendrix and the Grateful Dead to Miles Davis and J.S. Bach, will present a live stream concert from noon to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29 as part of the college’s Cultural Affairs Program.

Described as a “flamenco phenom” by The Boston Globe, Juanito Pascual is recognized in both Spain and the United States as a unique and creative flamenco and jazz performer. He has released three critically-acclaimed albums, including “Cosas en Común” that features all original flamenco compositions. Recent appearances include a performance at TEDx Nashville, an international tour, a cameo role in a documentary film with flamenco icon Jorge Pardo, and performances in movie scores in his new home of Los Angeles. A gifted teacher, Pascual regularly hosts workshops in the United States, the Middle East, Europe, and Central America. In 2011, his first method book was published, The Total Flamenco Guitarist (Alfred Press).
The final Fall 2020 Cultural Affairs Program event will feature multi-genre, singer-songwriter Deb Cavanaugh at noon on Thursday, Nov. 12 in a program entitled “Musical Travels in China, An Adventure in Teaching and Learning.” The concert will be delivered online.
