Academic Advising Certification to Joshua Kohan

Joshua Kohan, an assistant professor in the English, Foreign Languages and English as a Second Language Department, has received the Academic Advising Certification of Completion. Please join us in congratulating Josh.
Kohan has been with the college for over eight years. In his tenure at Hudson Valley Community College, Joshua has always been keenly interested in his professional and personal development, previously earning the Leadership Development and the Teaching and Learning Certificate.
Joshua is active on campus, co-chairing the Retention Committee and as a member of the Academic Senate, Faculty Workshop Day, and Threads Student Literary Magazine committees. He has also developed online courses for English Composition, Literature to Film, and English Composition for ESL students and is an ESL advisor for the college. Additionally, he has facilitated many workshops during Faculty Workshop Day ranging from ESL pedagogy to a retention roundtable and best practices using Turnitin software. Currently, Joshua is working with his chairperson and department colleagues to develop a co-requisite English Composition and Fundamentals course, is a faculty mentor at the CET and is an ESL academic advisor for the college.
