Constitutional Convention Talk on Wednesday, Oct. 18

During the general election on Tuesday, Nov. 7, voters in New York State will be asked if they wish to call a Constitutional Convention.

In preparation for this vote, Faculty Members Alan Joseph and Robert Whitaker present “The New York State 2017 Constitutional Convention Question,” an informative and educational talk on the New York State Constitutional Convention ballot question, from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18 in the Multipurpose Room of the Marvin Library Learning Commons.

The presentation explores both the history of constitutional conventions in New York and past changes to the Constitution, as well as the process and function of a convention should the voters approve the measure this fall. It also examines arguments both for and against calling a convention. Audience questions will be welcome and light refreshments will be provided.
