The Rensselaer County Health Department held a five-hour Point of Distribution (POD) exercise May 1 in the McDonough Field House.
The POD drill was intended to improve the Health Department’s ability to respond to emergencies, such as an epidemic or bio-hazard release. Nearly 100 county staff members will be on site and more than 500 participants from local community groups will volunteer as patients.
