Managing Multiple Generations for Hudson Valley Community College
Wednesday, Oct. 27 from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. via Zoom
Supervisors will learn about the five generations in the workplace today,
understand what makes them different, recognize the keys to managing
and working with multiple generations, realize the importance of values,
collaboration and communication of each generation. Presented by Eric Eisenstein of Capital EAP.
FERPA Guidelines and Policies
Thursday, Oct. 28 from 10:30 a.m. to noon via Zoom
Under the Federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974, disclosure of information from a student’s education records is strictly limited and all colleges must have policies in place to comply with this law. College Registrar Ian LaChance will provide employees with specific information about what they can and cannot say/do in accordance with FERPA regulations here on campus.
Our Return to In-Person Learning: A look at mental health for faculty, staff and students amid our transition back to in-person services and learning
Thursday, Oct. 28 from 1 to 2 p.m., ADM 104
Workshop participants will discuss the impact of COVID-19 on both students and faculty during a time of continued remote and online learning, as well as our transition back to in-person learning. We will identify ways to manage our own wellness and encourage our students to improve and maintain their wellness to achieve academic and life goals, during COVID-19 and beyond. These include: creating a dedicated study/work area, establishing a routine, engaging in self-care and self-assessments or check-ins and more. Presenters are Katie Weeks of the Counseling and Wellness Center and Sara Donnelly of the Center for Careers and Transfer.
