Cross Country Runner Eric Young Makes Second Team All-American

Hudson Valley Community College Cross Country Runner Eric Young (Shaker/Latham) earned Second Team All-American honors. As a freshman, Young finished ninth out of 135 runners with a time of 28:16 at the NJCAA National Championship in November of 2010. The top 15 runners earn All-American honors.

Hudson Valley Cross Country Coach Chuck Terry was proud of his runner, but also proud of Young’s accomplishments in the classroom stating, “Eric had a very good semester athletically and academically. He managed a 3.53 GPA, and was our top runner throughout the year. He was a very consistent performer this season.”

Young took first place in his first collegiate race at the SUNY IT Invitational in September of 2010, and helped the men’s team to a first place finish. In the Region III Championships at the end of October, Young placed fourth out of 73 runners. Young also had two other top-five finishes this season and led the men’s team in all of its events this season.
