Students in Professor Malu Benton’s Spanish 100 and Spanish 101 classes participated in a unique cultural exchange on Tuesday, Feb. 27. Students were asked to bring in an object to discuss over Zoom with students from Tec de Monterrey University in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. Students from both colleges were able to practice their language skills during the exchange and learn a little bit more about each other.
The aim of the exchange, Professor Benton said, is to promote cultural awareness by exploring similarities among Hudson Valley students and college students in other countries.
This is the second year that the collaborative effort between Professor Alicia Rodriguez from Tec de Monterrey and Professor Benton has taken place.
