Curriculum Committee emergency meeting on Thursday

 

The Curriculum Committee will hold an emergency meeting on Thursday, Aug. 7 at 9 a.m. in the Marvin Library Multipurpose Room (2nd floor).

All are welcome to attend.

1.0   Roll call by signatures

2.0   Approval of minutes – no minutes to consider

3.0   New Business

3.1 Change in Degree Requirements – Overhead Electric Line Worker Certificate
Submitted by Richard Porter and Electrical Construction and Maintenance Faculty

Recent approved changes to several ECMN courses make a change to this program necessary, as courses are shared with this program.  Change in credit/contact hours from 2 lecture/6 lab/5 credits to 0 lecture/8 lab/4 credits for ECMN 121 Residential Construction Wiring and ECMN 122 Commercial Construction Wiring.  ECMN 130 Safety and Labor Relations had a substantial revision of content and is titled ECMN 135 Workplace Safety.  A new course, ECMN 140 Labor Relations has been added to the curriculum as an accompaniment to the revised ECMN 135.  A title change has occurred for ECMN 101 from Direct Current Theory and Magnetism to Direct Current Theory.

Please note that the next scheduled Curriculum Committee meeting is Monday, Sept. 8, 2014 at 2 p.m. in BTC Meeting Room 3.  The deadline for proposal submission for that meeting is Aug. 18, 2014.
