•3.1 New Course – CRJS 133 Introduction to Animal Advocacy
Submitted by Dr. Ann Geisendorfer
The department proposes this course to provide students with the basic strategies for advocating for animals and their welfare.

•3.2 New Course – CRJS 236 Animal Abuse, Interpersonal Violence and the Justice System
Submitted by Dr. Ann Geisendorfer
The department proposes this course with material that is significant to animal law and policy as well as other areas of criminal justice, investigation and public administration.

•3.3 Change in Course Title, Change in Course Description – CRJS 218 Computer Security
Submitted by Dr. Ann Geisendorfer
The department proposes these changes to meet the evolving changes in the
field seeking students with a basic understanding of digital evidence security,
preservation, and organization.

•3.4 New Course – ENGL 137 Writing for the Media
Submitted by Maria Palmara
The proposal introduces a new 3-credit course intended to familiarize students with the diverse styles of writing for the
media.

•3.5 Change in Prerequisite – THEA 111 Acting II

The proposal proposes the requirement of THEA 110 Acting I as a prerequisite.

•3.6 Change in Prerequisite – DART 200 Digital Imaging II

The department proposes the expansion of the courses that satisfy the prerequisite for DART 200.

•3.7 Change in Degree Requirements – Digital Media A.S.

The department’s proposed changes are made to comply with SUNY Seamless Transfer with respect to the General Education wording.

•3.8 Change in Degree Requirements – Liberal Arts and Sciences – Humanities and Social Science A.A.

The proposal eliminates the current footnote 7 referencing high school foreign language requirement.

•3.9 New Advisement Track – Liberal Arts and Sciences – Humanities and Social Science A.A.
– Communications – Media Advisement Track

The proposal provides for a new advisement track that introduces students to a communications approach that unites
traditional areas of written and oral communication with courses in digital media literacy.

•3.10 New Advisement Track – Liberal Arts and Sciences – Humanities and Social Science A.A.
– Art History and Gallery Studies Advisement Track

The proposal creates an advisement track that combines art history and gallery management courses allowing for a new avenue
of study for students.
