3.1 Introduction of New Certificate Program: Semiconductor Technology – Submitted by Anthony Kossmann
This program is designed to ready the student for employment in the field of semiconductor technology in one year. Graduates of ELT curriculum and related areas or individuals with relevant experience and or education would be good candidates for this field.
3.2 New course ECCE 213 Early Intervention and Autism in the Young Child – Submitted by Nancy T. Cupolo and Rebecca Wagner
A three-credit course designed to meet a certification need for educators in the field. This course will provide an in-depth investigation into the area of autism.
3.3 Deactivate course CHEM 130 Biochemistry – Submitted by Dr. Peter Schaefer
This course was created for the MLT programs, which no longer exist. Its content has orientated toward the medical laboratory.
3.4 New course CHEM 200 Biochemistry – Submitted by Dr. Peter Schaefer
The content in the proposed deactivated course CHEM 130 needs to be upgraded to meet the higher-level demands of biotechnology and biochemistry for transfer proposes.
3.5 Change in degree requirements for the Biotechnology A.S. degree program – Submitted by Dr. Peter Schaefer
The addition of three credits for ENGL 104 English Composition II: Writing About Literature and the reduction in Restrictive General Education Electives from 12 to 9 credits provides a much needed Humanities course to the program. This course also improves transferability with net change in the total credits for the degree.
3.6 New course NURS 105 Bridging Education and Practice Simulation I
3.7 New course NURS 106 Bridging Education and Practice Simulation II
3.8 New course NURS 205 Bridging Education and Practice Simulation III
3.9 New course NURS 206 Bridging Education and Practice Simulation IV – Submitted by Carol Bosco, PhD, RN
This series of courses will be used in conjunction with academic lectures to provide interactive course work utilizing simulation and case studies, computerized testing and practice, didactic, debriefing and online discussion. These courses will help to bridge the gap between education and practice and provide students with the skills needed to be safe and competent practitioners.
3.10 Change in degree requirements for the Nursing A.A.S. program – Submitted by Carol Bosco, PhD, RN
The addition of the four simulation courses as listed above increases the degree requirements for the Nursing A.A.S. Program by 4 credits.
