De-Stress Week Activities

Project Aware, with support from Student Senate, invites students, faculty, and staff to join us at de-stress activities hosted throughout the week, as we gear up for finals and wrap up the last two weeks of the semester.

Monday, April 29

  • Meditation: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
    Location: Flex space in the Counseling Services
    Students can stop by, use the massage chairs as they experience guided mediations, encourage relaxation and stress management.
  • Sidewalk Chalk: 10 am – 2 pm
    Location: In front of Siek Campus Center.
    Students can stop by to write an uplifting thought, message or image to provide positivity to the campus community. Chalk will be provided.

Tuesday, April 30

  • FriendCHIPS and Guac: 11 a.m. – Noon
    Location: First Floor of Siek Campus
    Students can enjoy a study snack of chips, salsa, and guacamole while exchanging motivational quotes, songs and /or study tips.
  • Finals Prep: Noon – 1 p.m.
    Location: Center for Academic Engagement
    Join us for an engaging meeting about ways to prepare for finals.
  • Yoga: 12 pm- 1 pm
    Location: Counseling and Wellness Center Flex Space
    Join us to engage in some self-care with yoga hosted by faculty member Paul Calarco.

Wednesday. May 1

  • Adult Coloring and Fresh Fruit: 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
    Location: First Floor of Siek Campus Center.
    Take a break from studying to do some adult coloring while snacking on fresh fruit, to calm the mind and fuel the body.

Thursday, May 2

  • Nature Walk: 11 am- 12 pm
    Location: HVCC nature trails, meet at putting green.
    Students will meet Kevin Schlicht, Counseling and Outreach Coordinator in Counseling Services, at the putting green in front of the Siek Campus Center. Being in nature has incredible benefits for your mental health.  Please note this activity is weather dependent and please bring appropriate attire to walk the trails.
