Hudson Valley Community College’s Department of Fine Arts, Theatre Arts and Broadcast Communications announces the opening of “Pulse,” a year-end exhibition of work by students in the Digital Media Associate in Science degree and certificate programs.
The exhibition is on view through Saturday, April 16 in the Teaching Gallery, located on the ground floor of the Administration Building.
This first-time exhibition comes after the college began offering a two-year degree program in Digital Media in fall 2014. The degree program followed the one-year certificate program, which attracted much student interest beginning in 2010. Both programs prepare students for work in the computerized graphic design and Web publishing fields, with study in drawing, photography and design, video art, digital imaging, animation and interactive media. Students of both programs also are prepared to transfer for further education.
Students have submitted class work in drawing, photography, two-dimensional design, video, graphic design, animation and generative art completed during summer and fall of 2015 and spring of 2016 for the exhibition, which was organized by students in the college’s Gallery Management classes.
Teaching Gallery hours are Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.; Wednesday, 1 – 7 p.m.; Saturday, noon – 4 p.m.; closed Sunday and Monday.
