Disability Training
Three-part series begins Thursday, Sept. 22 at 10:30 a.m.
Campus Center, room 150

Join the Center for Access and Assistive Technology for a 60-minute presentation and introduction to “Disability,” understanding what life is like with a disability, learning about the different types of disabilities, and helping people feel more comfortable interacting with people who have disabilities.

This presentation is one of a three-part Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) series to be offered at Hudson Valley Community College by Bryan Baszczuk, as part of the ADA Trainer Network.

The second presentation will be held on Thursday, Oct. 13 at 10:30 a.m., also in Campus Center, room 150. This presentation will focus on the 1990 Americans with Disabilities Act. Bryan will discuss the history of the ADA, and give an overview of the impact that this legislation has had on our society. This session will run approximately 70 minutes.

The third and final presentation in the series will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 16 at 10:30 a.m. in the Campus Center, room 150. This presentation will focus on employment and the ADA. It will highlight a number of famous people with disabilities, both historical and current figures, who have been very successful. This presentation will run approximately 60 minutes.

The college community is encouraged to attend one or all three presentations. (Anyone who attends all three presentations will receive a certificate of completion.)

Light refreshments will be provided.
