Do you read… Lees…, Est ce que tu lis… ?

Wouldn’t it be amazing if I could take a paper written in French and translate it into English? Or maybe translate that document into Arabic?

There is a service provided to Hudson Valley students, staff, faculty and alumni to translate any document into another language. Imagine what information we could learn if only we were able to read and understand the original language. Now with SensusAccess, we can!

Just wait… there is more.

SensusAccess is a one-stop, self-service, alternate media and document remediation service for educational institutions. In layman’s terms, it means SensusAccess converts one format to a more accessible format for yourself or others.

Documents can be converted to:

    • audio books (MP3 and DAISY)
    • e-books (EPUB, EPUB3 and Mobi)
    • digital braille
    • digital large-print
    • BeeLine Reader

And let’s not forget, translating to other languages.

Furthermore, this service can remediate inaccessible documents like image-only PDF files, JPG pictures, PowerPoint presentation and LaTex projects into a more accessible and less tricky format.
And to show you the power of SensusAccess here is a sentence translated to other languages.

Language and accessibility should never be the barrier to learning.

  • لا ينبغي أبدا أن تكون اللغة وإمكانية الوصول عائقا أمام التعلم.
  • El idioma y la accesibilidad nunca deben ser una barrera para el aprendizaje.
  • Język i dostępność nigdy nie powinny być przeszkodą w nauce.
  • 言語とアクセシビリティが学習の障壁になるべきではありません。
