Wishing you the best as you kick-off the spring semester. We are pleased to share several upcoming opportunities for faculty to learn more about Open SUNY and get their questions answered.

Webinar: What is Open SUNY?
Session 1: Jan. 29, 11 a.m. – noon ET
Session 2 (Repeat): Feb. 5, 1-2 p.m. ET

Meeting Agenda
Open SUNY is a system-wide effort to embrace and expand online-enabled education in order to improve education access and help more students complete their degrees and be successful after graduation. Chancellor Zimpher introduced Open SUNY at her State of the University address on Jan. 14, 2014.
The webinar agenda includes:
1. A status report on Open SUNY, with a deep dive on faculty-related topics;
2. Answers to the most frequent questions raised about the effort and others offered by attendees;
3. Opportunities to become involved;
4. Gather your input and reflections
In addition to the campus attendees, participants in the meeting will include:
– Carey Hatch, Associate Provost, and a leader of the Open SUNY effort
– Ken O’Brien, Chair of the Provost’s Open SUNY Advisory Committee
– Peter Knuepfer, President of the University Faculty Senate
– Tina Good, President of the Faculty Council of Community Colleges, or her representative
– Several faculty and professional staff members involved in the Open SUNY effort
