Donate your old bras for a great cause!

Athena’s Cup empowers women to surrender their bras and show support in the fight against breast cancer.

The Athena’s Cup, a national campaign that aims to collect and hook together 169,000 donated bras in an effort to raise breast cancer awareness and attempt to break the current bra-chain Guinness World Record, has collected over 164,604 bras to date. The Athena’s Cup is working on a plan to create the bra chain in October of 2017!

In honor and memory of breast cancer survivors and victims, donors are encouraged to write the names of a loved one or other meaningful inscriptions on the bras.

A drop off box for bras is located in the basement of the Marvin Library Learning Commons near the Instructional Media Center. Bras do not need to be in perfect condition, but must be able to “hook” as required by the Guinness World Record judges. No sports bras!

For more information, or to make an online donation, visit www.athenascup.org. Proceeds from The Athena’s Cup will benefit the American Cancer Society, Breast Cancer Screening Programs at Planned Parenthood and The Gloria Gemma Foundation. Athena’s Cup is a registered 501 (c) (3) charitable organization.
