The NYS Department of Transportation announces that, weather permitting, construction will begin Tuesday, May 26 on Williams Road (NY Route 136).
Workers will be on the job weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The road will remain open at all times, with single-lane closures and alternating one-way traffic in work areas. The project should take about three weeks and be completed by Tuesday, June 16, depending upon weather and other conditions encountered in the field.
The project will replace ramps at a total of 21 corners at 14 locations between the LaSalle Institute and Powell Street in Wynantskill. It is expected that the contractor will begin at one end of the corridor and progress through the corridor.
The DOT also plans to repave Route 136 between Route 4 and Route 150 later this year. Another public announcement will be made prior to the start of that project.
