Dr. Andrew Hurd writes lab manual for Cengage computer security text

Professor Andrew Hurd, PhD, of the Computing and Information Sciences Department, was recently asked to write the lab manual for the textbook “Security+ Guide to Network Security Fundamentals.”

The book is published by Cengage Learning. Textbook author Mark Ciampa of Western Kentucky University contacted Hurd to see if he would be interested in updating the lab manual that went with his book, now in its 5th edition.

The manual would apply directly to CISS 125 (Computer and Information Security) at Hudson Valley, but can be adopted by Introduction to Computer Security classes worldwide. The text and lab manual also is written to help students prepare for the CompTIA Security+ exam.
