Attention faculty: Please consider nominating your outstanding research papers for the Dr. Joseph J. Bulmer Award for Excellence in Library Research. Whether you taught summer classes this past semester or will require a research paper for fall 2014 or spring 2015, we encourage you to consider your papers for this prestigious award.

Please note that a student must be nominated by the faculty member for whom the research assignment was completed. The work nominated must have received a grade of “A” from the nominating faculty member.

Award selection criteria:

— 1. Extensive bibliography with minimum of five sources and various formats

— 2. Evidence of initiative, persistence and ingenuity in identifying sources

— 3. Evidence of critical thinking in evaluating sources for credibility and appropriateness

— 4. Correct citation format

— 5. Authentic and without plagiarism (papers may be reviewed using turnitin.com or similar software).

This academic year’s deadline for nominating research papers for the 2014-15 Dr. Joseph J. Bulmer Award for Excellence in Library Research is Friday, April 25, 2015.

——The selected date is to ensure that the recipient is included in Students Honors Convocation, as well as Commencement. If this deadline is too early for your particular class(es), we encourage you to retain any papers you would like to nominate and submit them for consideration next year.

Recipients also receive a generous monetary award from The Foundation, as well as name recognition on a perpetual plaque in the library.

Submit nominated papers to Valerie Waldin, MRV 141.
