Dwight Marvin Library personal ebook accounts changing Wednesday, Oct. 11

Beginning Wednesday, Oct. 11, the Dwight Marvin Library’s primary electronic book provider ProQuest Ebook Central (formerly ebrary) will change the method to create a personal account to save ebook titles, annotations, and other notes. The new method will use Hudson Valley Community College’s single sign-on authentication and will no longer require a separate sign-on specific to Ebook Central.

Students and faculty who created accounts this semester have been contacted about this change. Those with accounts created before the start of the fall semester may import saved bookshelves from ebrary to the new platform. Contact library@hvcc.edu for details.

Saved links to ebrary or Ebook Central posted to Blackboard or elsewhere will be redirected to the new platform and are unaffected by this change. Contact online media specialist Stephanie Clowe for assistance with linking to ebook titles in Blackboard or other online venues.
