Elissa M. Baker is the first to earn the New Technology in Classroom & Beyond Certificate

Please join me in congratulating Elissa M. Baker, director for Distance and Online Learning, she is the first person to earn the newest certificate offered by the Center for Professional Excellence: New Technology in Classroom & Beyond.

Elissa has been with the college for 16 years. In her time at Hudson Valley Community College, Elissa has always been keenly interested in her professional and personal development. She is active on campus with both the Academic Senate – Instructional Resource Committee, Retention Committee, SUNY EITA, and Faculty Workshop Day Committee.

Elissa oversees the colleges online learning initiatives and supporting the campus use of Blackboard. She is the campus lead for the SUNY Digital Learning Environment transition from Blackboard to D2L Brightspace. Additionally, she teaches Computer Concepts and Applications and Document Formatting for the Computer Science and Mathematics Department and Technology in the Classroom online for the Education and Social Sciences Department.
