Ellings are authors of second edition of “Anatomy & Physiology for the Prehospital Provider”

The publishers Jones and Bartlett have recently announced the publication of Anatomy & Physiology for the Prehospital Provider, Second Edition by faculty members Bob and Kirsten Elling.

Bob and Kirsten are career paramedics in the Town of Colonie EMS Department, Whiteface Medical Services, and EMS educators with the college’s Paramedic program.

To properly assess and manage a patient, a pre-hospital provider must have a solid foundation in human anatomy and physiology.  Anatomy & Physiology for the Prehospital Provider, Second Edition, uses a systemic approach to building this foundation.  It begins by providing an overview of the basic systems of the human body and then explores each system in detail chapter by chapter, delivering a thorough discussion on the system’s anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology.

The book includes a new section on the basics of chemistry, and expanded section on joints, expanded content on muscular physiology, updated illustrations and additional pathophysiology including cellular injury.
