Emergency communications testing is today, Aug. 29!

 

The college is testing its emergency communications systems on Thursday, Aug. 29 around 10 a.m.

Test messages will be broadcasted to the indoor and outdoor speaker system; alert beacons inside campus buildings; the college’s website, Facebook and Twitter accounts; student and employee email; desktop computers on the college network, and the Alertus mobile application.

Additionally, we will test the SUNY NY Alert system.

To download the Alertus app for emergency notifications from the college (including test messages), please follow the instructions below.

1. Organization Code: hvcc
2. Enter your email address and click “Register”
3. Open your email and click on link to confirm your account
4. Restart Alertus + mobile app and set up notifications

Please pardon any interruption to college business as we test our procedures and communications tools to improve our response during an actual emergency.
