Nine students from the Troy EOC C.N.A. class, along with their instructor, Loretta Garrand, participated in the 10th Annual Community Hospice Walk held on Saturday, June 18.
Two weeks prior to the event student, John Rakowski, presented the opportunity to his classmates and encouraged each of them to join him in walking a 1.5 mile path around the University at Albany grounds. “It was important for us to participate because this is what we do as C.N.A.s, we help people,” he said.
In two short weeks, the group collectively raised $190 in donations! The Community Hospice event raised a total of $181,000 from all participants.
