The 2021 eSports season has officially started as the Vikings are competing in eight different games this season with record numbers of participants, doubling from the Spring 2021 semester, which saw the Vikings claim the NJCAAe National Championship in Call of Duty: Duos.

Mondays

FIFA — The first FIFA game was decided by forfeit as Crowder earns the win over Hudson Valley. The next match is set for Sept. 27 when HVCC takes on Central Wyoming College.

Call of Duty: Cold War — The Vikings lost by forfeit to Coastal Bend College. They are scheduled to play Hinds Community College on Sept. 27.

Rocket League — The Vikings have two teams competing this semester in the Rocket League events.
— Rocket League (Team One): Bye Week; returns to action on Sept. 27 to face Johnston Community College
— Rocket League (Team Green): Dropped its first match 3-0 to Bryant & Stratton (WI) and is scheduled to play Central Wyoming on Sept. 27.

Tuesdays

Wednesday

Super Smash Bros — This is the most popular game among the Vikings eSports program. We have eight individuals competing weekly for a chance to clinch a playoff berth following the 8 week season.

    ·      Jonah S.: Lost by forfeit by Snow College
    ·      Christian M.: lost 3-0 to Mott Community College
    ·      Matthew P.: WON 5-0 over Southwest Wisconsin Technical
    ·      Shane T.: Lost by forfeit to UKIT.
    ·      William M.: WON 3-2 over SUNY Broome
    ·      Benny W.: WON 3-0 over Laramie County Community College
    ·      QuaZeek P.: Lost by forfeit to University of South Carolina Sumter.

Hearthstone — We have two students participating in Heartstone this semester, including Ligori K., who finished the spring 2021 semester as the nation’s top-ranked Hearthstone player.

·      Ligori K.: Played fellow HVCC gamer, Tylar M. and won 3-0. Ligori is set to play Pennsylvania Highlands on Sept. 29.
·      Tylar M.: Had to face Ligori K. in the first match of the season, was defeated 3-0. Tylar M. is set to play Nassau Community College on Sept. 29.

Thursdays

Overwatch: The Vikings lost their first match of the season 3-2 against a tough Bismarck State College team. They are scheduled to face Bergen on Oct. 1.

Call of Duty: Gun Fight: There are two teams participating for the Vikings.
·      HVCC Team 1: The Vikings team lost 3-0 to Bryant & Stratton (VA). They are set to play Nassau on Sept. 30.
·      HVCC Team 2: The Vikings won by forfeit over North Central Michigan College. They are set to face Bryant & Stratton (VA) on Sept. 30.

Fridays

Valorant: The Vikings dropped the first match of the year 2-1 to a tough Pennsylvania Highlands program. The team is scheduled to take on Monroe Community College on Friday, Sept. 30.
