The Dwight Marvin Library is exploring the possibility of a subscription to Statista, a multidisciplinary, user-friendly database which brings complex subjects to life visually and interactively.
Students and researchers can download graphs to picture formats, export statistical charts to Excel and PowerPoint presentations, use HTML code to embed charts to web pages, share on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Google, to name a few infographic and copyright compliant options. Detailed source citations are provided.
Data and commentary can apply to students of business, criminal justice, psychology, science, economics, technology, health, education — any discipline or topic involving statistical information is made simple and brought together in one place. Find international snapshots of unemployment, data on lasers pointed at aircraft in the U.K., the Kanye Effect (global search interest on the term “Tidal” in the last 90 days), and more. See https://www.statista.com/chartoftheday/.
Everyone is encouraged to explore Statista, available now on the Library website (scroll in alpha order or click here) and let us know what you think.
Please note the trial only lasts until Monday, Feb. 22 and includes with off-campus access.
