As you know, this year’s commencement ceremony will include both in-person and virtual components, and we want to make sure faculty and staff can fully participate in both celebrations!
In-Person Attendance
Faculty and staff members who wish to attend one of the four in-person ceremonies on May 15, may register to attend. We hope you will be able to attend and watch your students cross the stage and be recognized. As in year’s past, we also need members of the campus community to work at each of these ceremonies. Workers will be compensated.
If you would like to attend or work, please complete this registration form as soon as possible.
Video Messages/Congratulations
Your video messages of congratulations were one of the highlights of last year’s virtual commencement. We are again compiling video messages to be included in the virtual part of this year’s celebration. We are especially interested in collecting messages from faculty members, department chairs and academic support staff who work directly with students.
- Be positive, brief and creative
- Be horizontal (if recording on your phone, hold it horizontally so all the messages are in the same format)
- Consider your lighting and your background. Lighting from the front works best.
- Don’t focus on individual students by name, but feel free to focus on students from your department or program
Upload your message by Friday, May 7.
Encourage Student Attendance
As faculty and staff members who help students each day, we hope you will encourage participation in this year’s on-campus commencement ceremonies. So far, almost 200 students have registered to participate in our four ceremonies, but we are hoping to have many more. Your encouragement can help. So, please take a minute to mention that now is the time for graduates to register for these ceremonies. An email was sent to all students earlier this week that provides more details, or students can go to the college’s 2021 commencement webpage for more information and to register to attend.
