Faculty member named program assistance for Rubin Community Fellows Program

Fred Alm, faculty member in the School of Business entrepreneurship and marketing programs, has been named program administrator for the Louis & Hortense Rubin Community Fellows Program at the Sage Graduate Schools.

The program assistant guides Rubin Foundation grant applicants through the process from start to finish: processes all paperwork relevant to the grant; serves as liaison between the Foundation and grantees, participating agencies, academic institutions, and the public, and ensures that all guidelines are met.

Established in June 1990 with a gift from the Louis Rubin Family, the Louis & Hortense Rubin Community Fellows Program is a cooperative venture of The Sage Colleges, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Hudson Valley Community College, Emma Willard School, and participating agencies of Rensselaer County. The program and fund is administered by The Sage Colleges.

The program supports fellowships (full or part-time) for faculty of these institutions to work with one or several agencies, public or private, in Rensselaer County. The program provides opportunities for faculty professional development through release time from some teaching duties. By bringing the expertise of teaching professionals to the service of the citizens and agencies of Rensselaer County, the Rubin Community Fellows Program seeks to create collaboration partnerships, leading to creative solutions to economic, organizational, social and managerial problems challenging our community.
