A major objective at Hudson Valley Community College is to ensure that all potential employees participate in a fair and open recruitment and hiring process. Therefore, all employee search committees must include a member of the Fairness and Equity Committee.

The committee’s membership is composed of employees working across campus, who volunteer to sit on search committees as assigned by the Fairness and Equity chairperson. All committee members receive training conducted by the college’s Affirmative Action Officer John Ogden.
When assigned to a search committee, members review candidate resume’s, review interview questions, and work with the search committee chairperson to establish the candidate interview schedule.
