Colleagues, as you are aware, the College’s hiring process requires the formulation of a search committee that consists of varying constituencies across Campus, including a member of the College’s Fairness and Equity Committee.
The Fairness and Equity Committee is focused on recruitment and hiring processes that are fair, open and impartial. Comprised of college staff from across our campus, the now 10 member committee is tasked is to provide representation on all college search committees. Committee members receive training and are charged with providing an objective perspective during employee candidate interviews.
Working with Human Resources’ Dina Farr and once a search request is approved, Fairness and Equity Committee members are assigned to search committee on a rotating basis. It also is the responsibility of all search committee chairpersons to submit a copy of its interview questions to Human Resources and the Fairness and Equity Community representative for review and approval.
On behalf of the Fairness and Equity Committee, we look forward to helping the college achieve the goal of hiring the best that collectively can help us be the best.
NOTE: During 2018, Human Resources processed 272 requests to fill vacant positions!
